Are you cooped up in the house all day with the kids and ready to pull your hair out? Then this post is for you! We’ve had some fun this week and searched the Internet for some crazy fun outdoor activities, that we think you will enjoy and that we look forward to trying out in the near future.

So, if you’re ready, we will get started.

1. Paint Slip and Slide

This is a new twist on an old favorite. You might have done a Slip and Slide in the past, but you have never done it like this!

What you’ll need:

  • Large rectangular plastic sheet
  • Soap
  • Water
  • Paint (Washable or Fabric depending on whether you want it to stain your clothing or not)
  • Bathing Suit
  • White T-Shirt

Step One: Lay the plastic sheet out on a level surface with no rocks or on a slightly inclined surface (give yourself space to slow down) with no rocks in the yard; just like you would a regular Slip and Slide. Secure the corners to ensure it stays put.

Step Two: Spray down the plastic sheet with a soap and water

Step Three: Use your paint and squirt it all over the plastic sheet

Step Four: HAVE A BLAST!

This makes for a  great afternoon and some pretty exciting moments. Try having a contest to see who can get their white shirt the messiest.

2. Water Gun/Water Balloon Fight

Growing up we didn’t always have a pool, around the house, and Oklahoma summers can be HOT! One of the ways we’d cool off is by spending hours filling up water balloons for a short, but memorable, thirty minutes of play. It is one of my favorite summer memories.

If you happen to find yourself without a pool this summer, then we suggest taking a trip to Walmart or the Dollar tree and stock up on water balloon and toy water guns.

However, if you’re not wanting to make another trip to the store, then grab a water bottle or pop bottle, poke a hole in the cap, fill with water, and squeeze. It’s a simple water gun that will keep you and the kids entertained for at least a good hour and a half.

3. Yard Twister

Grab some spray paint and find a nice, grassy, flat surface, and limber up! This is played just like normal twister, but without the hassle of your mat blowing away.

What you’ll need:

  • 4 Colors Spray Paint
  • Poster Board
  • Medium Size Bowl
  • Scissors, Pencil
  • Bucket and Paper

Step One: Begin by tracing a medium sized bowl onto a poster board twice, then cut it out to create a template.

Step Two: Next, take your template out to the yard and start spraying inside the holes.

Step Three: Last, if you don’t have a Twister spinner lying around, take your paper and write foot/hand placement options on different strips (Left Hand, Blue/Right Foot, Red, etc.), then place them in the bucket!

Once you’re setup, you are ready to play. The game is played just like normal Twister, one person spins the spinner or picks up a stip of paper and calls out hand/foot placement, if a player falls over they are out, the last person to fall out wins!

4. Giant Bubbles

These giant bubbles are CRAZY cool, however a little bit complex to explain, so to help you out we have the video below that we used to help create ours!

This summer will be one to remember! We hope you stay safe, wear sunscreen, and enjoy it! Also, let us know if you come up with any other crazy fun summer activities!
