One of the unique attributes of Bartlesville is the convenience of living in the country while still being close to the amenities of the city. Most U.S. cities don’t have the luxury of being so close to everything. It makes Bartlesville a great place to live, especially for those that enjoy the outdoors.

While it is becoming more and more popular to live in the city, there are some increasing good reasons to live in the country. One of the big ones is reducing the amount of daily stress that the city adds. Stress does a number on our health, it can cause us to overeat causing us to gain weight,  it can cause your blood pressure to skyrocket, and it can develop into heart disease. Living in the country might not eliminate stress, but studies suggest it can reduce it significantly.

However, outside of eliminating stress, what are the other benefits of living in the country? Well, I’m glad you asked. Here are four big reasons to go country!

1. More family friendly

Bartlesville city living is not dangerous by any means. We have a quiet city, which is great, however, the way many of our neighborhoods are designed make the area not as family friendly. While it is not the case for all, some of our city neighborhoods lack much yard space, which limits your outdoor family events.

In the country, however, you do not have to deal with such a problem. The wealth of land the country offers is filled with opportunities to set up outdoor entertainment.

2. Lower cost of living

Being frugal doesn’t automatically come with the territory. If you move outside the city limits, you will not feel a sudden urge to save money and can your own vegetables. However, living away from the city will equal a lower cost of living.

On average, a person living in a rural area will spend roughly 20% less than their urban counterparts.

3. Room to grow

Space is always a big issue when you live in a subdivision or within the city limits, there just doesn’t seem to be enough of it. This may come as a shock, but just outside the city limits is plenty of room to grow!

The added property space will give you further options to add-on to your home or completely deck out your backyard.

4. Peace and quiet

It is something you do not think about until it is midnight, you’re sleeping, and a fire truck roars by waking you and everyone else in the house. This can become quite frustrating. However, moving to a less active rural setting will bring peace and quiet to your nightly routines.

If the sound of silence is something that you find yourself longing for, then packing up and moving to the city might be the right thing for you!
